About the business

Over the past 10 years, many people have asked me why/how I started grooming. Well, I decided I was tired of working in a line of work I had no interest in persuing. I was watching TV one evening and saw an advertisment about a pet grooming school in Lynn, MA outside of Boston. I approached my family and told them that I wanted to go to school to become a groomer. Althought a bit suprised, they were very supportive and for the next 5 months I commuted home on the weekends, living in Lynn and going to school for 20 weeks. I graduated at the head of my class of 12 groomers and with an energy to help owners care for their pet(s). After grooming part time for 2 years and working in that deadend job, and after my daughter was born, I told my wonderfully supportive husband that I could not leave our daughter to go back to work. He took on the task of remodeling one of our garage bays into a wonderful work space for my grooming business.  I have met many pets and their owners and have grown to love each and every one.
The 5 years of veterinary technician experience I've had helps me 'examine' each pet I groom. I look for health issues owners may not have noticed. I examine the ears and eyes of the pet. I look carefully at the skin and coat as I brush, bathe and dry each pet. Every pet gets its nails trimmed, ears cleaned and anal glands expressed (if necessary). I check the health of the teeth too. After a warm shampoo (oatmeal, flea, hypoalergenic or regular), cream rinse and blow dry, each pet is trimmed or clipped if necessay or requested.
